FREE NELSON MANDOOMJAZZ are an experimental doom jazz trio based in Bristol, UK and Abu Dhabi, UAE.

FNMDJ are:

Rebecca Sneddon (saxophones)

Colin Stewart (electric bass)

Paul Archibald (drums)

Their first full-length release, the split EP "The Shape of Doomjazz to Come/Saxophone Giganticus" launched them into the experimental scene, with influences from free improvisation, noise, doom metal and free jazz coliding to form one dynamic sound. The next release, album "Awakening of a Capital", cemented this style and their unique approach to the genre. 2016's "The Organ Grinder" expanded on their signature sound, with inclusions of organ, trumpet and piano. Recorded in Edinburgh's historic Reid Hall, the album made use of the space's characteristic reverb to create a new, expanded concept for the trio.

The band return in 2024 with new release "The Cellar", promising a new evolution of the trio's trademark sound.
